Stephen (Beaver) James Standing 1955-2005

Stephen (Beaver) James Standing

Born: 20 June 1955 Australia

Died: 28 December 2005 Australia

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?
The Lord replied, The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.

To me beaver was my Dad.

Beaver was the oldest of six childen, my dad then Michael, Kerry, David, Sharon and Barry.
My dad had 4 children, Leigh, Sandy(me), Jay and Mark; 2 grand children, Dommy and Damion.

My dad grow up near the sea and chewed on pencils, that's how he got his name.

What made my dad special was his spirit, he was the type of guy you could come to in the middle of the night, the sun would shine.
A sholder to cry on, a beer, smoke and welcome smile.

That's my dad.

He said what he thought not always what you wanted to hear, but straight up.

Thats my dad!

He lost one leg ,but nothing stopped him from water skiing, and living a full life. He was a single father of Jay and Mark.

We love you so much Dad.
Funny we never seem to find words or the time, when time is needed.
Forever missed.
Have a beer for me mate,
till we meet in heaven.
We love you so much.
